Mark Steyn of the
Chicago Sun-Times achieves the dubious honor of the first columnist to take advantage of Dean's "metrosexual"
faux pas. Since this segue will likely become a common refrain over the next year if Dean secures the nomination, here's the link and intro for anyone interested:
Democrat 'metrosexuals' hard to believe
I see Howard Dean has told residents of Boulder, Colo., that he's a ''metrosexual.'' Not familiar with the term? Don't worry. It may be a critical Democratic Party demographic group, but it barely exists outside the style sections of the chichier publications. A metrosexual is a heterosexual man who has a gayish sensibility in his dress, cologne, home decor and album collection; if men are from Mars, it doesn't mean they can't be in touch with their Venusian side.
The op-ed goes on to skewer General Clark and Senators Kerry & Edwards in particular. I guess that's the exquisite beauty of metrosexuality. The rhetorical strokes of its color-coordinated brush are only limited by the imagination of the rightwing spinmeister... Thanks Howard!
